Apolo Restaurant
168 Delancey Street (Clinton St.)
212-477-4918
The Jackson 5 may have set the Apollo Theatre apart from the rest, but it's the decent portions and good food that sets the Apolo Restaurant on Delancey Street apart from the rest.
Most dishes at this Chinese-Latin American restaurant are $5 to $8, including the beef chow mein ($6.50), and the squid with rice ($6).
Apolo also offers homemade iced tea, which is pretty decent. We definitely recommend going with the General Tso's Chicken or the Butterfly Steak ($8.75). Other people have reported bad experiences at this restaurant, but we have nothing but good things to say about them.
