Best Cheap Pizza in NYC

There are easily hundreds, if not thousands of pizza restaurants that crowd the blocks of New York City, many offering slices of $2.75 or $3 apiece. Sbarro? Famiglia? No thanks. You've got to know where to look, but there are much better options for a homemade pie out there.

Of course, there's John's Pizza, but that ain't cheap. Perhaps the best pizza we've had is at Totonno's. Zagat has even rated them as having the best pizza in the city. While not the cheapest pizza in the city, it is the tastiest, and is not extremely overpriced for NYC. Plus, there is a $5 off coupon that you can print off and bring in when you dine.

OK, but you need pizza now; you can't take an hour to dine in. The best choice is to grab a couple of slices at 2 Bros. Pizza near NYU/Astor Place. For $2.75 you get two slices and a can of soda, or if you're just looking for a snack, cheese slices are just a buck.

If you're looking to kick back with a beer and pizza, NYCheapskate.com's recommendation is to go to the Crocodile Lounge. For the cost of a $5 beer, you'll get a free personal pan pizza, hot out of the oven. This may be a clever marketing gimmick by the owner to get people in, but it works, so who cares? Crocodile Lounge offers surprisingly good pizza for free.
